Pop-Up Sleigh Christmas Card With A Removable Santa Ornament
Front Cover
As an advent gift to the readers of my blog, I will be posting Christmas decorations every day for the next 25 days. I hope these Christmas decorations will brighten your day and bring joy to your home.
Today's decoration is a pop-up sleigh Christmas card with a removable Santa ornament. The Santa ornament was made in a previous blog posting and I will not be including its design in this blog posting. Please go to this posting and make the Santa Christmas Ornament.
Here is the PDF file. I use 65 lb. white cardstock, 65 lb foil cardstock from Michaels and white glitter cardstock from Walmart. This pop-up card fits in an A7 envelope.
Here is the .Studio file.
Here is the SVG.
Fold the card in half. I removed the center dotted line and I folded the paper in half because I did not like the look of the dotted lines If you do not want the dotted line, remove it before you cut this piece.
Glue the embellishments onto the front of the Card
Make a base for the sleigh by folding its dotted line. Bend the sleigh's base so that it is at a right angle. Place the sleigh onto the card with the back edge of its base aligned to the crease in the card. Glue the base down a half inch from the left side of the card.
Crease the support piece as shown above.
Align the edge of the support piece with the base edge of the sleigh. Use the photo as reference.
Align the support piece so that the slit is centered.
Apply glue to the tab as shown above.
Fold the sleigh down. This will allow the tab to be adhered at the correct position on the back of the sleigh.
This is what it should look like after one tab is glued.
Turn down the tab and apply glue to the other tab.
Lay the sleigh down flat, making sure that the tab is underneath the piece.
Glue on the red foil and then glue it to the pop-up sleigh.
Glue the words evenly spaced across the card.
Insert the Santa ornament into the slot in the pop-up.
I added a piece of washi tape to the ornament hanger to secure it.
