25 Days of Christmas Decorations - Day #11 - Sliceform Christmas Tree Ornament

Sliceform Christmas Tree Ornament

As an advent gift to the readers of my blog, I will be posting Christmas decorations every day for the next 25 days.  I hope these Christmas decorations will brighten your day and bring joy to your home.

Today's decoration is a sliceform Christmas tree ornament. The sliceform is approximately 4 inch tall.

Here is the PDF file.  I use 65lb. cardstock.

Here is the .Studio file.

Here is the SVG.

Glue the star on top of the tree.  Slide the three slices onto the slice with a star.  The tree should look as shown above.

Slide the remaining slice onto the tree.  The center slot slides easily onto the tree.  The next part is tricky. The two outer slots need to be bent in order for them to be attached/slid into place because the slits are in the opposite direction.  This design had to be done this way because the slices needed to be locked in place.  Otherwise, the slices would fall apart. When sliding on these last two side slices, be gentle, do it slowly and try not to tear the paper.

Notice I did crease the paper(center of the picture).  This will happen. Repeat for the remaining slice.

The Christmas tree sliceform folds flat for mailing.  I threaded and knotted a 6 inch metallic thread through the hole in the star as a hanger (not shown).

I have included two more first slice versions in the files.  One is for a round hanger and the other is to make a tree without a star.
