Paper Magic Lantern - 4. Magic Lantern Slider Box

The Magic Lantern slider box is the most versatile box of the three that I presented. It can open to 10 inches.  While the other two boxes are fixed at a depth of 4 inches.  The slider box needs the most paper to replicate because it is a larger box.

All of the boxes can use the 2 x 2 film slides and holder, the right angle mirror platform, lens holder and the lens stand that I created.

Magic Lantern Slider Box
The box can open to 10 inches
Cut out all of the pieces for the front of the box.
Glue the spacers along the slot on what will be the outside of the box.
Bend the tabs on the file slide piece (top piece in the photo above) at a right angle. Apply glue to the spacer piece (see photo for where glue is applied).
Slide the file slide piece into the slots, turn the paper over and apply glue to the tabs of the file slide piece as shown above.
Bend the glue tabs inward and apply pressure to adhere the glue. It will take a little longer to adhere as there are two areas of glue that need to bond.
Fold the sides of the box and the tabs at a 90 degree angle and apply glue to all of the tabs to complete the box.
 Completed Front Box
Cut out all of the pieces for the front of the box.
Fold the sides of the box and the tabs at a 90 degree angle and apply glue to all of the tabs to complete the box.
 Completed Rear Box
Slide the rear box into the front box.
Make the black top for the front box
Make the vellum top for the rear box.
The right angle mirror platform can be added to the interior of the box.
Set up to illuminate the slide.
Image produced.
