A Pop-Up Christmas Card Called "You Can't Catch Me I Am The Gingerbread Man"

Here is a video of the card opening and closing.

As an advent gift to the readers of my blog, I will be posting Christmas decorations every day for the next 25 days.  I hope these Christmas decorations will brighten your day and bring joy to your home.

Today's decoration is a pop-up christmas card called "You can't catch me I am the Gingerbread Man".  I made this for my granddaughter who loves the story of the Gingerbread Man running away.

This pop-up card fits in an A7 envelope.

Here is the PDF file.  I use 65 lb. white cardstock and 65 lb foil cardstock from Michaels. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M2HW3D2W_afGML5ok5jdlFRqSqXvd90T/view?usp=sharing

Here is the .Studio file.

Here is the SVG.

Fold the card in half. I removed the center dotted line and I folded the paper in half because I did not like the look of the dotted lines  If you do not want the dotted line, remove it before you cut this piece.

Glue the embellishments on the gingerbread woman and word "believe' on pretty paper.  Glue this on top of the foil paper.  Set this aside.

Fold the pop-up mechanism as shown above.

Align the moving arm as shown above.

Slide the arm into the hole on the pop-up mechanism.  It will need to be moved and then turned around the corner in order for it to be put into place.

Apply glue to the big tab on the right as shown above and align it with the center of the card.  Close the card to adhere the tab.

Apply glue to the small tab on the other side as shown above.

Lay the pop-up mechanism across the fold and adhere the small tab underneath this piece.

This is what it should look like once the tabs are glued down.

Apply glue to the moving arm.

Adhere the gingerbread man.

This is what the mechanism looks like inside the card.

Apply a tape runner to the back of the gingerbread woman that was set aside. Adhere this piece to the front of the card.

Front cover.
