About Me

My photo
Elaine Wolfe
I design paper models that integrate art, architecture, engineering, mathematics and technology to create unique designs. Adding technology, especially coding in TurtleStitch, has broadened the scope of my work and allows me to design more quickly and precisely. As a retired math teacher, I enjoy showing how creative projects can turn abstract ideas into hands-on experiences. I use a Silhouette Cameo to create precise scale drawings and to cut out my paper model parts. I post my free designs and detailed assembly instructions on my blog, papercraftetc.blogspot.com. In addition to papercraft, I create digital embroidery designs in TurtleStitch, combining coding with traditional embroidery techniques to highlight the beauty of mathematical ideas and show how code can become art. My projects translate these concepts into unique stitched and cut designs. You can find examples and tutorials on my dedicated TurtleStitch blog, TurtleStitch.blogspot.com. I am also a collaborator for MakeToLearn.org, a project that brings the art of making into learning environments by blending digital tools and hands-on creativity.
